Bishop’s Stortford is a bustling market town, home to lots of big name high street retailers, as well as more independent and specialist shops, within both its main shopping areas and its popular shopping mall – Jackson Square Shopping Centre. The town is also home to several supermarkets - the nearest is a four-minute drive from the development.

Shopping opportunities abound via the capital – which is around 35 miles away via car, or just under a 40-minute train journey from Bishop’s Stortford train station.
Due to its location, close to the beautiful countryside of both Hertfordshire and Essex, Maltings Place at St James’ Park is a stone’s throw away from plenty of scenic rural landscapes – ideal for outdoor activities including rambling, walking, jogging, horse riding and cycling.

London is less than a 40-minute train journey from Bishop’s Stortford station.

For younger children, this includes Thorley Hill Primary School and Thorn Grove Primary School, only 1.5 miles away and just over two miles away respectively, via car, while for secondary and further education, there is The Bishop’s Stortford High School – around 1.2 miles from home.

Maltings Place at St James’ Park offers excellent transport links including frequent local bus and train services. Bishop’s Stortford train station is only eight minutes’ drive from home. From here, visitors can catch regular connections local and national hubs such as Cambridge, Harlow, Broxbourne, Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street (journey time just under 40 minutes).
The M11 and A1184 are major roads which are easily accessed from the development - Ashberry at St James’ Park is a little over a 10-minute drive away from junction 8 of the M11 - providing access to London within less than an hour.
International travel is on offer via Stansted Airport – around a 15-minute drive away from home, via the A120.
